Tetrathionate broth for the selective enrichment of Salmonellae from food samples in compliance with the ISO 6579 standard.
DIRECTIONS
Suspend 89.5 g in 1 litre of demineralised water. Bring to the boil for 5 minutes.
Do not autoclave.
Cool to 45°C and add to 1 litre of medium:
- 20 ml of a solution containing 5 g of potassium iodide and 4 g of iodine.
INCUBATION
Suspend 1 ml of pre-enrichment medium in 10 ml of MKTTn. Incubate 21-27 hours at 36-38°C.
