For the enumeration of sulphite-reducing clostridia spores in foods.
Suspend 41 g/l (Biokar), 34 g/l (Merck), 46.5 g/l (Diagnostic Pasteur).Autoclave for 20 minutes at 115°C. Cool to 50°C.
Inoculate 1 ml of sample material which has been pre-warmed to destroy vegetative cells and activate spores.
Incubate anaerobically 24 h at 37°C.
