Selective agar for the enumeration of faecal streptococci in water by the membrane filtration technique.
Suspend 41.4 g/l. Do not autoclave. Sterilise by heating for 20 minutes in free flowing steam.
Incubatate for 24 h or 48 at 37°C.

Yeast extract 5.0
Glucose 2.0
Disodium hydrogen phosphate 4.0
Sodium azide 0.4
Agar-agar 10.0
TTC 0.1
Final pH 7.2 ± 0.2 at 25°C.
