TBX Agar (acc. to V08-031 standard)

For the detection and enumeration of §-glucuronidase-positive Escherichia coli

INOCULATION:
Pipette 1 ml of homogenate or diluted sample into a Petri dish and add 15 ml of TBX Agar. Swirl carefully to mix.
INCUBATION:
At 44°C for 18-24 h.

Casein enzymatic digest 20.0
Bile salts No.3 1.5
BCIG 144 µmol
DMSO 3 ml
Agar-agar 9-18 g
Final pH 7.2 ± 0.2 at 25°C.

For the detection and enumeration of blue colonies of §-glucuronidase-positive Escherichia coli.
(According to NF V08-031 standard).
DIRECTIONS:
Suspend the powdered medium in demineralised water. Autoclave for 15 minutes at 121°C.
