DIRECTIONS
- Empty one full dose in 5 litres of demineralised water or weigh out the amount of powder required in the proportion of 32.8 g per litre of water. Add the liquid from the supplement bottle (6 g/litre).
- Heat up, stir frequently and bring to the boil until complete dissolution.
- Cool in a water bath at 45-50°C. Pour into Petri dishes.
INOCULATION
- Inoculate the surface and incubate for 18 to 24 h at 37°C.

PRINCIPLE
Salmonella Plus agar is an innovative isolation medium for the identification of Salmonella including S. typhi, S. paratyphi and lactose-positive Salmonella, after the standard pre-enrichment and enrichment steps, and thanks to a specific marker in this new medium:
• Salmonella colonies turn violet
• E. coli are colourless
• and coliforms turn blue.
