Contact Slides - with flexible joint - double faced - with neutraliser

Contact slides for surface hygiene monitoring.

Contact slides, ATL, flexible, joint, double-faced, with neutraliser, Enterobacteria, VRBG, Total Flora, Coliforms, VRBD, Yeasts-Moulds, surface sampling

ATL® Transport rack, stainless steel,
with folding handle:
- Holds 24 slides.
- Electropolished.
- Dimensions: 245 x 155 x h. 85 mm.
- Effective grid size: 30 mm.

THE ANSWERS
? To the first problem:
The addition of an effective neutraliser to the culture medium is therefore required in order to counteract the action of:
- quaternary ammonium compounds
- phenolic compounds
- aldehydes
- halogenated compounds
- hexachlorophen, formol and ethanol.
? To the second problem:
The flexible joint on the screw cap allows for the agar surface to be properly applied against the monitored surface.
RECOMMENDATIONS
? Storage:
- at 10 to 20°C.
? Disposal:
slides must be incinerated, autoclaved or soaked in disinfectant.
? Incubation:
- Total Flora + Yeasts-Moulds slides
30-37°C / 24-48 h for
Total Flora,
then 25-30°C / 24-48 h for
Yeasts-Moulds
- Total Flora + Coliforms or Enterobacteria slide
30 or 37°C / 24 h.
- Total Flora + Total Flora slide
30 or 37° C / 24-48 h.

THE CHALLENGE
? First problem:
Surface hygiene monitoring techniques are based on the recovery of the contaminants (bacteria, yeasts...) with contact slides which are then incubated.
Since the monitored premises are regularly disinfected, traces of disinfectants or antiseptic agents might be recovered together with the sample. Their presence in the culture medium inhibits the growth of incubated microorganisms.
? Second problem:
Non-flexible contact slides cannot be properly applied against the monitored surface as there is no flexible joint between the agar paddle and the screw cap.
